No. 3 Texas A&M Improves to 9-0 with 38-17 Win at No. 19 Missouri

Redshirt sophomore quarterback Marcel Reed threw for two touchdowns, completing 20 passes on 29 attempts for 221 yards. Redshirt sophomore running back Rueben Owens II rushed for 102 yards and two scores, while junior wide receiver KC Concepcion led all receivers with 84 yards, including a season-long 48-yard receiving touchdown. Sophomore wide receiver Mario Craver totaled 59 yards on six receptions, adding 17 yards on the ground.
The Aggie defense limited Missouri to 284 total yards of offense, while allowing only 77 yards through the air. Junior linebacker Daymion Sanford registered five tackles on the evening, including one sack and two tackles for loss. The Katy, Texas, native forced a fumble in the second quarter which was recovered by junior safety Dalton Brooks, who logged six tackles and a 48-yard rush on a fake punt attempt. Senior defensive end Tyler Onyedim notched five tackles and two tackles for loss. Redshirt senior defensive end Cashius Howell ended his night with five tackles and recorded a strip sack in the second quarter to boost his season total to 10.5.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Aggies tallied the first points of the game when Reed connected with Ashton Bethel-Roman for a 4-yard touchdown in the closing minutes of the first quarter.
- After Brooks returned a fumble to the Missouri 2-yard line, EJ Smith punched in a 1-yard rushing score to give the Maroon & White a 14-0 advantage at halftime.
- Texas A&M scored on its opening drive of the second half when Concepcion hauled in a 48-yard receiving touchdown.
- Missouri's Jamal Roberts found the end zone with a 4-yard rushing score to put the Tigers on the board, 21-7, with 6:50 to go in the third quarter.
- Randy Bond converted a 32-yard field goal attempt with 3:10 left in the third quarter to extend the Aggies' lead to 24-7.
- The Tigers cut into the deficit early in the fourth quarter with a 49-yard field goal conversion.
- Midway through the final period, Owens II found paydirt on a 57-yard rushing touchdown to boost the Texas A&M edge to 31-10.
- Missouri responded on the ensuing drive with a 45-yard rushing score by Ahmad Hardy.
- Owens II scampered in with a 1-yard score in the final minutes of the game to seal a 38-17 win.
GAME NOTES
- Texas A&M improved to 9-0 for the first time since 1992 when R.C. Slocum's Aggies posted a perfect 12-0 regular season. Mike Elko joins Slocum (1992), Emory Bellard (1975), Homer Norton (1939) and D.X. Bible (1919) as Texas A&M head coaches that have started a season with at least nine straight wins.
- The Aggies' improved to 6-0 in SEC play for the first time since joining the league in 2012. It is the Aggies' first 6-0 league start in any conference since Slocum's Aggies had three-straight undefeated worksheets in the Southwest Conference from 1991-93.
- It was the Aggies' FBS-best third road victory against an Associated Press top 25 team this season.
- Redshirt sophomore RB Rueben Owens II logged his second career 100-yard rushing game against an SEC opponent with 102 yards on 13 carries. He matched his career high with two rushing touchdowns, including a career-long 57-yarder.
- The Maroon & White dominated time of possession with a 35:46 to 24:14 advantage. It was the Aggies' six-straight game with a TOP advantage.
- Senior DE Cashius Howell, the SEC sack leader entering the game, became the first Aggie to reach double-digits in season sacks with a strip-sack in the second quarter.
- Graduate student PK Randy Bond scored eight points on a field goal and five extra points to increase his career points total to 351. He's the third Aggie to score 350-plus career points.
- Graduate student DT Albert Regis reached the 100-tackle plateau for his career with four tackles against the Tigers.

- Texas A&M returns to Kyle Field on Saturday, Nov. 15, for its final conference home game of the year at 11 a.m. CT against South Carolina. The Gamecocks hold a 3-6 overall record and are 1-6 in conference play this season.
