Prager Named SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year, LaViolette Garners All-SEC Honors

BIRMINGHAM – Texas A&M left-hander Ryan Prager was named the SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year and Jace LaViolette garnered Second Team All-SEC honors, as the league office announced its 2025 baseball awards Monday afternoon.
Prager, who is the first Aggie to be named the SEC Baseball Scholar-Athlete of the Year, graduated with a degree in Finance from the Mays Business School, while holding a 3.65 GPA. A member of the 2024 Spring SEC Academic Honor Roll, Prager has been a guest speaker at several Mays Business School events during his time in the Maroon & White.
On the mound, the lefty is 3-4 with a 4.50 ERA in 14 starts. In 78 innings of work, Prager has struck out 67 batters to only 18 walks.
LaViolette, who garnered All-SEC honors for the second straight season, is slashing .259/.432/.577 to go along with nine doubles, 17 home runs and 55 RBI. The junior has started all 53 games in center field for the Aggies and has tallied a team-best 17 multi-RBI contests to go along with 15 multi-hit games and four multi-homer performances. LaViolette has also drawn a team-high 56 walks, which ranks seventh nationally.
The Katy, Texas, native is currently rewriting the Texas A&M record books as his 67 career home runs and 163 walks rank first in program history. In addition, the junior enters the SEC Tournament ranked fourth in RBI with 196, fourth in total bases with 438 and fifth in runs with 192.
With the All-SEC selection, LaViolette becomes the 64th player in program history to earn multiple all-conference honors.
