Baseball Announces 2025 Team Awards

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M baseball team has announced it annual list of team awards following the conclusion of the 2025 season, as voted on by the student-athletes.
MARION PUGH MOST VALUABLE PLAYER AWARD – Caden Sorrell
Sorrell put together a stellar 2025 season despite seeing limited action due to injuries. The sophomore registered a .337/.430/.789 slash line to go along with a 1.219 OPS in 26 games. Sorrell logged a triple, five doubles, 12 homers and 32 RBI, while also drawing 16 walks.
The Highland Village, Texas, native also recorded 11 multi-RBI performances, eight multi-hit games and two multi-homer contests.
C.E. "PAT" OLSEN OUTSTANDING PITCHER AWARD – Justin Lamkin
Lamkin compiled a 3.42 ERA in 15 starts during a strong junior campaign for the Aggies. The left-hander struck out 98 batters in 84 1/3 innings of work, both of which led the team. The Corpus Christi, Texas, native also held a 1.10 WHIP and limited opponents to a .235 batting average.
In his final start of the regular season, Lamkin punched out a career-high 15 batters in a complete game shutout on the road against No. 10 Georgia. The junior's first career complete game shutout earned him SEC Pitcher of the Week honors along with National Pitcher of the Week honors from the College Baseball Foundation, the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and Perfect Game. In the outing, the left-hander did not allow a walk or a three-ball count.
WALLY MOON AWARD – Caden McCoy
The Wally Moon Award, which is given annually to the player who shows the most improvement from the fall to the end of the season, was awarded to McCoy.
The left-hander made 14 appearances in his rookie season and registered a 3-2 mark to go along with two saves. McCoy recorded a 4.91 ERA and totaled 29 strikeouts in 22 innings of work. The freshman also held opponents to a .209 batting average.
MARION PUGH SPIRIT AWARD – Hayden Schott
The Marion Pugh Spirit Award is given to the player who is most instrumental to team unity and who provides valuable leadership both on and off the field.
Schott, who was awarded the honor of wearing No. 12 prior to the season, was a true embodiment of this award during the 2025 season both on and off the field. The Newport Beach, California, native started 33 of the 50 games he played in and logged four homers and 34 RBI. Off the field, Schott played a valuable role in the clubhouse and as a leader of the team.
LORAINE B. AND WILLIAM B. "BREEZY" BREAZEALE RBI AWARD – Jace LaViolette
LaViolette started all 56 games for the Maroon & White and slashed .258/.427/.576 to go along with nine doubles, 18 homers and 61 RBI. The junior totaled a team-best 19 multi-RBI contests, 15 multi-hit games and four multi-homer performances on the year. LaViolette also logged a team-high 57 walks and a 1.003 OPS.
The Katy, Texas, native made his mark in the Texas A&M record book as his 68 career home runs and 169 walks rank first in program history. In addition, the junior finished the 2025 campaign ranked third in RBI with 202, fourth in total bases with 443 and fifth in runs with 193.
