Aggies Claim Platform Golf All-Academic Team Status
Aug 05, 2025 | Men's Golf
NORMAN, Okla. – The Texas A&M men's team earned 2024-25 Platform Golf All-Academic Team status for another outstanding school year in the classroom, the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) announced Tuesday.
To earn Platform Golf All-Academic Team recognition, squads must achieve a 3.0 or higher GPA for the entire school year.
"This is a blue-collar team that puts in a lot of hard work whether it's on the golf course or in the classroom," head coach Brian Kortan said. "I'm proud of these guys and the effort they put in setting a high academic standard. This is a total team award that wouldn't be possible without the great academic services office we have and the support they provide our golfers."
In the classroom, the Aggies were paced by standouts Michael Heidelbaugh and Jack Usner who garnered Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar recognition from GCAA last week. The duo dominated in the classroom, sporting cumulative GPAs over 3.40. Heidelbaugh earned the award for the third consecutive season.
Texas A&M enjoyed a successful 2024-25 campaign. The Maroon & White finished 11th at the NCAA Championship and posted runner-up finishes at the SEC Championship and the NCAA Auburn Regional. Ol' Sarge's charges claimed three tournament titles, including the Furman Intercollegiate, SeaBest Invitational and Aggie Invitational.
