
Soccer Travels for Thursday's Tussle at Auburn

AUBURN – The Texas A&M soccer team faces its first SEC road test of the season when the Aggies battle the Auburn Tigers in Thursday's 6:30 p.m. tilt at AU Soccer Complex.
The Aggies enter the fray with a 3-2-3 record with wins against Lamar (1-0), UConn (2-1) and Lafayette (7-1). They have draws against Baylor (1-1), Texas State (1-1) and SFA (0-0). Most recently, Texas A&M dropped a 2-1 decision at No. 4 TCU and a 3-0 home match versus No. 24 Georgia.
Bella Yakel has played all 720 minutes to lead the Aggies. The center back entered the campaign as the most seasoned Texas A&M player, having accumulated 4,132 minutes during her three seasons at Portland. The senior defender has 65 Division I camps on her résumé, including 57 starts.
Leah Diaz leads the Aggie offense with 10 points on three goals and four assists. Trinity Buchanan and Kaylee Noble have eight points with three goals and two assists apiece.
Texas A&M has two shutouts on the season, including one each with Erica Defferding and Sydney Fuller patrolling the woodwork.
