Feb 06, 2026 | Track and Field
INDIANAPOLIS – INDIANAPOLIS – USA Track and Field announced a partnership with Texas A&M University and the City of College Station Friday to bring its summer World Athletics Continental Tour Gold-labeled meet to E.B. Cushing Stadium on the University campus on June 6.
The USATF Lone Star Grand Prix will award more than $200,000 in prize money to athletes competing in track events ranging from the 100m to the 800m and field events including the pole vault, javelin, hammer throw, and high jump. It will be broadcast nationally on NBC from 4-6 p.m. ET.
"Cushing Stadium is one of the finest track and field facilities in the United States," CEO of USATF Max Siegel said. "The Lone Star Grand Prix will offer U.S. athletes the opportunity to compete domestically against top talent in a world-class setting. It also provides fans with the opportunity to witness America's best track and field athletes up close."
The Lone Star Grand Prix will be one of two gold level meets on the inaugural USATF Tour, a collection of World Athletics labeled meets throughout the country. The second will be the Los Angeles Grand Prix held at the Allyson Felix Track on the University of Southern California campus on June 13-14.
"I think it's an honor that Texas A&M has been selected to host this prestigious meet." Texas A&M track & field head coach Pat Henry said. "It's an amazing opportunity for our institution to be a part of the history of track & field in the United States and continue to grow the sport. This meet will provide a lot of American athletes a great chance to showcase their skills on home soil and bring the sport we love to local fans."
"This is a big moment for College Station," said City of College Station Mayor John Nichols. "We're honored that USA Track & Field selected our city as one of just three host locations for this event. Being chosen highlights the excellence of Texas A&M's track and field program, and the City is proud to play a role in supporting an event that brings elite athletes, visitors and national visibility to our community."
Tickets for the Lone Star Grand Prix will be available soon. For more information on the USATF Tour visit usatf.org.
