Aggie Men Finish Sixth, Women 19th at NCAA Indoor Championships

FAYETTEVILLE – The Texas A&M track & field team concluded the NCAA Indoor Championships earning a pair of top 20 national finishes, as the men secured sixth with 21 points, while the women placed 19th with 12.5 points Saturday at the Randal Tyson Track Center.
Jaiya Covington made it back-to-back years garnering First Team All-America honors in the 60m hurdles, as she placed fourth in a stacked field after crossing the line in 7.94 which matched her season-best time. On the men's side, Ja'Qualon Scott made it three-straight First Team accolades in the hurdles after finishing fifth in 7.51.
Camryn Dickson secured her first individual indoor First Team All-America honor after finishing fifth in the women's 200m. The senior clocked a time of 22.76 running out of the second heat of the finals.
Peter Narumbe concluded his first indoor season with another strong showing in the 800m, as the freshman finished in 1:47.23 to take sixth. The result secured First Team All-America honors, marking the first of his career.
The men's 4x400m relay team added the final points of the meet, as the quartet of Lawson Jacobs, Eric Hemphill III, Kimar Farquharson and Auhmad Robinson took seventh place. The group won the second heat of the event in 3:05.00.
Freshman standout, Lily Carlson, capped off an impressive debut indoor campaign after breaking the women's pole vault school record for the third time this season. She cleared three bars, culminating in a mark of 4.51m/14-9.5 which downed her previous best and landed her in eighth place and earned First Team All-America honors.
Blake Harris rounded out his heptathlon campaign, earning back-to-back years with Second Team All-America honors after finishing 10th with 5,885 points. He carried 3,197 points into the final day and hit the ground running, winning the 60m hurdles with a personal-best time of 7.81 and followed it up with another career best in the pole vault clearing 4.77m/15-7.75 to take seventh. He concluded his seven-event series finishing ninth in the 1,000m with a time of 2:45.06.
