Women’s Hoops Takes on Auburn in First Round of SEC Tournament

GREENVILLE - The Texas A&M women's basketball team takes on Auburn in the first round of the SEC Tournament Wednesday inside Bon Secours Wellness Arena at 5 p.m.
The Aggies (14-11, 7-9 SEC) are facing off with the Tigers (14-16, 3-13 SEC) for the second time this season. The first matchup saw Texas A&M takedown Auburn, 81-63, which ignited a five-game win streak to conclude the season.
Ny'Ceara Pryor leads the way for the Aggies, averaging 15.9 points, 7.2 assists, 4.2 rebounds and 3.5 steals per game. She made history by becoming the first player in the SEC this century to have four straight double-doubles that came from points and assists. She also finished conference play with 54 steals, marking the third most in SEC history since the implementation of the 16-game schedule. Pryor was named to the All-SEC Second Team and All-Defensive Team honors for her efforts during the 2025-26 season.
Fatmata Janneh closed out the regular season averaging a double-double for the second season in a row with 12.0 points and 10.2 rebounds per game. She recorded 12 double-doubles on the year, five of which came during the Aggies five-game winning streak.
Coming off a 66-58 win over then-No. 19 Ole Miss, Texas A&M was named the USBWA Team of the week. Texas A&M has won six of its last seven games with three ranked victories and two Quad 1 road wins highlighting the journey.
With a victory over the Tigers, the Maroon & White would go on to play the No. 7 seed Ole Miss Rebels in the second round Thursday night at 5 p.m.
