No. 10 Aggies Tame No. 18 Auburn Tigers, 4-3

AUBURN – The No. 10 Texas A&M men's tennis team tamed the No. 18 Auburn Tigers, 4-3, at the Yarbrough Tennis Center Thursday afternoon.
Freshman Markus Molder grabbed his second career clinch after defeating Freddy Blaydes in straight sets on court 4, 6-4, 6-3.
The Aggies (16-7, 9-3 SEC) dropped the doubles point after dropping courts 2 and 3 to give Auburn (15-7, 5-6 SEC) the early advantage. On court 1, Theo Papamalamis and Togan Tokac upset the No. 10 duo of Billy Blaydes and Freddy Blaydes to grab Texas A&M's one doubles win, 6-3.
Junior Lathan Skrobarcek struck first in singles for the Aggies, tying things up at 1-all. The Helotes, Texas native took down Manel Lazaro in dominating fashion on court 6, 6-1, 6-2. Auburn would then go on to take court 5.
Sophomore Alex Frusina defeated Nicholas Heng on court 3, 6-2, 6-4, to tie things up at 2-all. Fellow sophomore Theo Papamalamis put the Maroon & White within one with a victory over No. 26 Hamza Nasridinov, 6-2, 6-3. Molder would then go on to clinch the match. Once the match was already secure in Texas A&M's favor, the Tigers claimed one more point on court 2.
The Maroon & White stay on the road to face Alabama Saturday at 1 p.m.
