
Perez and Perelman Land SEC Weekly Honors

BIRMINGHAM – The No. 2 Texas A&M women's tennis team garnered conference recognition with Lucciana Perez and Anna Perelman claiming SEC Player of the Week and SEC Freshman of the Week, respectively, the league announced Wednesday.
The pair came up big as the Aggies earned two top 20 victories, knocking off No. 4 Auburn (4-3) and No. 16 Florida (4-0). It marked the third career league honor for Perez, who claimed SEC Player of the Week after the final two regular season matches of 2025 and SEC Freshman of the Week in February 2024. Perelman claimed the first award of her career.
Perez, slotted No. 1 in the ITA singles rankings and No. 14 in doubles, played a pivotal role in the victories. She delivered a statement victory, 6-2, 6-4 over No. 38 DJ Bennett in the triumph over Auburn. She also teamed up with Mia Kupres to defeat Auburn's No. 10 doubles pair of Bennett/Ava Esposito. Perez/Kupres added a 6-2 win over No. 22 Xinyi Dong/Nikola Daubnerova of Florida.
The Lima, Peru, native improved her singles mark to 20-0 on the season, including 11-0 in SEC play. She extended her SEC regular season win streak to 31 matches. In doubles action, she climbed to 11-5 on the year, including 5-3 against ranked opponents.
Perelman delivered a clutch performance in the victory over Auburn as the teams battled for the top spot in the SEC. The freshman rose to the moment, rallying from a set down to defeat Alice Battesti 4-6, 6-2, 7-5. The pair battled in the final set after all five singles matches were completed, putting all eyes on court 6.
The Moscow, Russia, product improved to 14-6 on the season, including 8-4 in dual action and 2-1 in SEC play.
