
No. 2 Aggies Close Out SEC Home Slate Against No. 16 Florida

COLLEGE STATION – The No. 2 Texas A&M women's tennis team wraps up the regular-season home slate when the Aggies host No. 16 Florida Saturday. First serves at the Mitchell Tennis Center are set for noon.
The Aggies enter the match with an 19-3 overall record, and they lead the SEC with an 11-1 mark. The Maroon & White are coming off a hard-fought 4-3 victory over No. 4 Auburn.
With three matches remaining on the SEC schedule, the Aggies own a one-game advantage over Auburn, Oklahoma and Texas.
Texas A&M boasts a strong lineup with five ranked singles players, headlined by No. 1 Lucciana Perez, who holds the program record for consecutive SEC regular-season wins with 31. The Aggies also feature No. 43 Mia Kupres, No. 56 Ilinca Amariei, No. 102 Violeta Martinez and No. 124 Lexington Reed, who recently earned her first career ITA singles ranking.
In doubles play, Perez/Kupres pace the lineup at No. 18 nationally, followed by Amariei/Martinez at No. 54 and Perez/Amariei at No. 74.
Florida enters the contest with a 13-5 overall record and an 8-4 mark in SEC play, including a 4-4 record away from home. The Gators are coming off a 4-0 loss to Texas and feature five ranked singles players in their lineup. Leading the way in No. 47 Gabia Paskauskas, followed by No. 68 Valery Gynina, No. 79 India Houghton, No. 86 Nikola Daubnerova and No. 105 Lucie Pawlak. In doubles, Florida is highlighted by the No. 22 pair of Daubnerova/Nong.
Texas A&M leads the all-time series, 11-9. The Aggies have won the last eight meetings against the Gators, including a 4-0 victory in Gainesville last season.
