Perez Earns D1 Softball All-America Second Team Honors

COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M softball standout Mya Perez earned D1 Softball All-America Second Team recognition, the outlet announced Tuesday.
Perez reached base safely in 55 of 57 contests this season and put together an NCAA-leading 55-game on-base streak. The junior ranked fourth nationally with a .602 on-base percentage and 25th in slugging percentage at .893. She paced the SEC in on-base percentage and finished fifth in the league in slugging percentage. Half of Perez's 58 hits went for extra bases, highlighted by a career-best 19 home runs and 10 doubles.
She totaled 54 walks on the year, the second-highest single-season mark in program history, while her 19 home runs and .414 batting average both rank seventh all-time at Texas A&M. In conference play, Perez established a school record with 31 walks and drew at least one walk in 16 of 24 SEC games. She topped the conference in both on-base percentage (.611) and walks (31), while ranking second in hit-by-pitches (5) and sixth in OPS (1.296).
Perez was also named a Softball America Second Team All-American, marking her second consecutive season receiving All-America honors. She added NFCA All-Central Region First Team and All-SEC First Team honors to her resume this season and was selected as a Top 25 finalist for the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year award.
