Aggies Climb Four Spots in Round Two of NCAA Championships

CARLSBAD, Calif. – The No. 20 Texas A&M men's golf team moved four spots up the podium in the second round of the NCAA Championship Saturday afternoon at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa.
The Aggies currently sit in 22nd place with a two-day score of 12-over 588, shaving 10 strokes off their opening-round performance. The Maroon & White are hot on the heels of BYU and Arkansas, trailing them by just two strokes. Auburn surged into the tournament lead, taking the top spot at 20-under 566.
Jaime Montojo paced the Aggies today, catching fire early with four birdies over his first five holes. He finished the round at 3-under 69, allowing him to skyrocket 47 spots up the leaderboard. He now sits at even-par with a tournament total of 144.
Trailing Montojo, Wheaton Ennis sits at t-52 at 1-over par, while Shiv Parmar rests three shots back after turning in a 4-over 148.
The Aggies continue their outing tomorrow looking to make their way up the leaderboard to be one of 15 teams to qualify for the final day of stoke play. They start Sunday's action with tee times starting at 2:45 p.m.
