Scott Finishes Second in 400m Hurdles, Aggie Men Place 11th at NCAA Outdoor Championships

EUGENE – Texas A&M track & field's Ja'Qualon Scott earned a runner-up finish in the 400m hurdles, while the men's team placed 11th at the NCAA Outdoor Championships Friday at Hayward Field.
The Aggie men concluded their championships with an 11th-place finish after accumulating 23 points. The group had one individual national champion, a national runner-up, secured four first-team All-America honors and nine Second Team accolades.
Scott highlighted the final day for the men's program, as he ensured back-to-back years with a second-place result in the 400m hurdles. The senior clocked a time of 48.82 to capture eight points for the Maroon & White's total.
Peter Narumbe scored the first points for the men's team on their final day, as he placed fifth in the men's 800m. He crossed the line in 1:45.37 earned the team four points and capped off his campaign with First Team All-America honors.
The men's 4x400m quartet of Eric Hemphill III, Musa Isah, DeMarco Escobar and Kimar Farquharson rounded out the scoring, finishing eighth with a time of 3:00.85. The results added the final point to the group's total.
Etoro Bassey wrapped up his impressive debut campaign in the high jump, taking ninth with a leap of 2.16m/7-1. Bassey was the highest finishing freshman in the contest and earns Second Team All-America honors.
Daniel Falode was the final finisher in the field, also recording a ninth-place result. He leapt his best mark in the sixth round of 16.20m/53-1.75 and recorded another three jumps of the 16m mark. He finishes the year as a Second Team All-American
