Jun 17, 2026 | Men's Golf
BIRMINGHAM – Texas A&M's Jake Maggert was honored with a spot on the SEC Men's Golf Community Service Team announced Wednesday.
The Aggie junior is involved with The Maggert golf tournament, benefiting YES to YOUTH – Montgomery Youth Services. The tournament raises money for an organization whose mission is 'to strengthen the emotional and mental health development of youth and families by providing crisis intervention, counseling and suicide prevention services. YES to YOUTH provides a safe and nurturing home where abused, battered, sex-trafficked, homeless and at-risk youth begin healing from the past and become empowered by the future.'
Maggert is an active participant in the volunteering circuit as part of his duties with the Texas A&M Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. He helped SAAC organize AggiesCAN, the largest student-athlete volunteer run canned food drive in the nation. The collections helped give back and provide a positive impact in the Brazos Valley. Maggert is also involved with REVved Up to Read, a Texas A&M University-affiliated volunteer program focusing on literacy.
His SAAC involvement also includes The Selfless Service community engagement program which encourages, streamlines and tracks the community involvement of all student-athletes. The Selfless Service Ambassador Program encourages members from SAAC to serve as key community service liaisons within their teams.
In his third season in Aggieland, Maggert competed in five events, including four stroke play tournaments. He posted a 73.5 adjusted scoring average in 12 rounds. He finished 29th at the Minnesota Golf Classic and 30th at the John A. Burns Intercollegiate.
