
Nixon Named to SEC Community Service Team

BIRMINGHAM – Texas A&M's Mia Nixon was named to the SEC Community Service Team, the league announced Wednesday.
This marks Nixon's second consecutive season on the SEC Community Service Team. The conference names a community service team in a continued effort to recognize the accomplishments of student-athletes beyond the field of competition.
Nixon was extremely involved in the Brazos Valley this year. The Martins Mill, Texas, native volunteered on numerous occasions with the ReVved Up to Read program, which promotes literacy for elementary school children in the area by reading and donating books. She was also a part of the largest student-athlete run can drive in the United States in the AggiesCAN initiative. With AggiesCAN, Nixon helped donate thousands of cans to families in Aggieland.
The redshirt junior was also involved in F.A.C.E. Mental Health, which aims to generate awareness, develop a sense of community, provide education and advocate for the variety of mental health concerns and challenges student-athletes experience.
