2022: Indoor - Opened the season at the Ted Nelson Invitational in the 400m (50.58) and 4x400m (3:16.89). Outdoor - Ran at the Baldy Castillo Invitational finishing in the 400m hurdles (55.45) and 4x400m (3:11.39)...Clocked 55.13 in the 400m hurdles at the Texas A&M vs. Texas dual meet...Placed eighth in the 400m hurdles at the 44 Farms Team Invitational at a season best time of 53.54...Ran 53.61 in the 400m hurdles at the Alumni Muster.
2021: Indoor - Competed in two meets...Ran 49.08 in the 400m at the Ted Nelson Invitational and 48.76 at the Aggie Invitational. Outdoor - Entered seven meets, including the SEC Championships...Opened the outdoor season finishing fifth in the 400m hurdles (54.40) at the Willie Williams Classic...Ran an all-time personal best 52.22 in the 400m hurdles at the LSU Alumni Gold...Placed fourth at the Aggie Invitational in the 400m hurdles at 52.28...Was on the Texas A&M SEC Championships team, placed 13th in the 400m hurdles at 52.55.
2020: Indoor - Competed in five meets running the 400m and contributed to the 4x400m relay teams...Clocked a personal best 400m time of 49.06 at the Charlie Thomas Invitational, ran third leg on the 4x400m "B" relay team that finished sixth at 3:14.53. Outdoor - Season cancelled due to COVID-19 pandemic.
2019: Indoor - Set indoor best of 49.19 at 400m to place 14th in Aggie Twilight … Finished fifth in 200m (22.47) at Texas A&M Triangular. Outdoor - Competed unattached outdoors in 400m hurdles at Michael Johnson Invitational (53.54) and A&M Alumni Muster (52.89).
Prior to Texas A&M: Attended University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas for 2017-18 … Runner-up in 110m hurdles (15.57) and 400m hurdles (54.99) at Texas State Bobcat Classic … Competed in six meets in 110m hurdles and three meets in 400m hurdles.

Personal: Ricky Lee Waer is the son of David and Janet Wear, born November 26, 1998 in Cuero, Texas … Hometown is Goliad, Texas … Has two older siblings, Daniel and Robert … Daniel played baseball at Coffeyville in Kansas and football at Baylor … Chose Texas A&M for its successful academic and athletic program and best chance to continue my career as a student-athlete … Started competing in track and field at age 10 … Volunteered with Methodist church pumpkin patch, as well as Incarnate Word cross country, high school track meet and assisted filming a women’s basketball game that was streamed online … Majoring in University Studies – Agricultural Leadership.
Tidbits: Career goal is to compete at and win NCAA Nationals, run professionally and compete for USA in the Olympics … Chose track and field since “What I put in is what I get out. In a race, you must give 100% the whole time, or else other people can see and you will get beat. This sport comes down to very minute details, which can change your whole race. I love the way all these factors appear, and the satisfaction of improvement is unexplainable.
