Kat Castner joined the Texas A&M Athletics Communications staff in July of 2025 as the Assistant AD for Football Communications.
Prior to her arrival in Aggieland, Castner was Director of Strategic Communications at Missouri in 2024-25 after spending five years at Duke. She served as the Director of Communications for the Blue Devils, working as the primary contact for football and men’s tennis. She served as Senior Associate Director of Communications for two years before being elevated in August 2021.
Before Duke, Castner was the Director of Athletic Communications at Army West Point for three years, where she was the primary contact for football and baseball. She also spent four years at Colgate (2012-16) as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications where she covered men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s cross country, men's basketball, women's hockey, softball and men’s and women’s track & field.
Prior to getting into college athletics, Castner spent three years as the Public Relations and Marketing Assistant at her alma mater Robert Morris University (2009-11), working with the campus public relations and marketing department. During her time there she was the main contact between her department and athletics, covering all 23 sports.
Castner has worked numerous NCAA Tournament events, serving as the media coordinator for the 2022-23 NCAA Division I women’s basketball first and second rounds as well as the 2022 and 2023 NCAA Division I softball regionals in Durham, North Carolina. Additionally, she worked on the media coordination staff for the 2015 NCAA Division I men’s basketball regional in Syracuse, New York, and the 2019 College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska.
Originally from Catasauqua, Pennsylvania, Castner graduated from Robert Morris in 2010 with a bachelor's degree in sports management/public relations. She was a four-year letterwinner for the women's soccer team. She earned her master's degree in journalism and mass communications from Point Park University in 2011.
