
Aggies Defeat Delaware State, Complete Double Header

FELTON, Delaware—The No. 4 Texas A&M equestrian team completed the weekend double header with another win over Delaware State.
With their sixth win in a row, the Aggies improve to 6-1 on the year and 3-1 in meets away from home.
The Aggies took equitation on the flat, 3-1. Senior Marlena Parker scored an event and team season-high 95 to defeat Delaware State's highest score, a 92. Senior Hannah Williams won her fourth consecutive flat point with a team second best 94. Freshman Rebekah Chenelle scored the final Aggie point with an 88-84 victory.
Texas A&M wrapped up the hunter seat competition with a 3-1 win in equitation over fences. Winning her fourth consecutive fences point was sophomore Alex Desiderio with an 82-79 defeat of Delaware State's Carlin Savage. Sophomore Rachel Hake was named MVP for the second time this season with an 87 for the point. Freshman Adele McKenna scored the first point of her career with an 83-70 performance.
The Aggies won horsemanship 1-0. Juniors Rachel Lucht and Kaci Fisher both tied their opponents in Horsemanship, resulting in a cancellation of the two points. Sophomore Bailey Cook scored the lone Aggie point for her first victory of the season with a 69.5-68.5 performance.
Texas A&M won the final event, reining, 3-1. Senior Logan Pluhar won her sixth consecutive point with a 67. Sophomore Jaci Marley defeated her opponent 69.5-68.5. Senior Ashley Dotson kept her undefeated streak alive, improving to 7-0 on the year with a 69-66.5 victory.
The double header in Delaware wraps up the fall season for the Aggies. The team will return to action on Saturday, Jan. 30 to host SEC foe Georgia at the Hildebrand Equine Complex.
