No. 4 Texas A&M takes on No. 3 Baylor Friday
Feb 04, 2016 | Equestrian
COLLEGE STATION – The No. 4 Texas A&M equestrian team will host third-ranked Baylor Friday at the Hildebrand Equine Complex at 9 a.m.
"We haven't played Baylor at home since 2012, so we are excited to host them in our new facility," head coach Tana McKay said. "We are looking forward to playing another top-three team. We have practiced hard to correct some of the mistakes that we had last weekend, so we are ready for another tough test."
The Aggies earned all four MOPs in their spring season opener against No. 2 Georgia on Jan. 30 as junior Anna Rea (Flat), junior Haley Webster (Fences), sophomore Avery Ellis (Horsemanship) and senior Ashley Dotson (Reining) took home the honors.
Dotson remains undefeated on the season in Reining with an 8-0-0 record and three MOPs. Ellis and junior Rachel Lucht lead the Aggies in Horsemanship with five wins each, while sophomore Hannah Williams holds a 5-1-2 record in Flat. Sophomore Alex Desiderio paces the Aggies in Fences at 6-1-0.
Action will get underway with Reining at 9 a.m. in the Western Arena as Equitation on the Flat and Horsemanship are scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. with Equitation over Fences to follow.
Live scoring for the meet can be found online at 12thman.com.
