TV/RADIO
- The Texas A&M-Creighton matchup will be broadcast by MAX. Calling the action are J.B. Long (play-by-play), Candace Parker (color) and Lauren Jbara (reporter).
- The matchups air on the Texas A&M Radio Network, locally on 1620 AM/94.5 FM or worldwide on the 12th Man Mobile App with Andrew Monaco and Dr. John Thornton describing the action.
TRENDS + NOTABLES
- Zhuric Phelps scored a game-high 20 points vs. Oregon, marking the third time in five games that he's led the Aggies in points. He also tallied season highs with five rebounds, four 3-pointers and 34:25 minutes of action. He also posted a pair of steals and had 2+ thefts in every game.
- Last year's SEC rebound leader Andersson Garcia logged a season-high five offensive rebounds for a second straight game vs. UO.
- Henry Coleman III collected a season-low two offensive caroms vs. UO but has at least two in every game this season, all off the bench, including three games with five or more.
- Wade Taylor IV had four assists vs. UO and has had four or more dishes in four of six games. He's averaging 4.7/G, which is well ahead of his career pace of 3.3/G in his first three seasons. He needs three assists to become the seventh Aggie to reach 400 for his career.
- Texas A&M is connecting on a modest 32.9% of its shots from deep, but it's a significant improvement from last year's 29.3% from beyond the arc.
- Leading the 3-point improvement Taylor, who is hitting 37.8% of his threes (17-of-45) after connecting at a 32.5% clip last season.
- Also contributing to the uptick is the addition of transfer sharpshooter C.J. Wilcher (41.7%) and the growing willingness of Andersson Garcia to put up 3-pointers. He's shooting just over twice as many threes per game as last season.
- The Aggies are averaging 4.2 blocks/G, which would easily be the highest of the Buzz Williams era (2021-22 team averaged 3.4 blocks/G).
- Offensive rebounding is a strength again for the 2023-24 national leaders in the category (17.4/G). The Aggies are averaging 18.0/G, including an eye-popping 29 vs. Southern (11/20).
- Four Aggies already have double-digit offensive rebounds - Henry Coleman III (25), Pharrel Payne (16), Garcia (16) and Solomon Washington (14).
- The Aggies have been dominant on the boards, enjoying at least an six-rebound advantage in every contest. Texas A&M is averaging a +12.7 rebound margin (44.7-32.0).
- The Aggies shot just 14 free throws in the season opener vs. UCF, but have shot at least 20 in every game since, including 40 FTA vs. Ohio State (11/15).
- Bench scoring has been a bright spot with the Aggies averaging 36.0 points/G from its reserves.
