BIRMINGHAM – Texas A&M volleyball's Maddie Waak was named SEC Setter of the Week for the second time this season following a dominant sweep at Auburn, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
The Maroon & White's standout setter garnered her second weekly honor of the year and fourth of her career after claiming a straight set win versus the Tigers. The senior orchestrated the offense to its second highest hitting efficiency of the season and highest in conference play, as the group hit at .392 percent as a unit.
Waak's impressive outing included 44 assists, averaging 14.67 per set and marked her 12th game this season eclipsing 40 dimes. She continued to add to the offensive production, logging three kills on three swings for a perfect 1.000 hitting percentage. Her 44 assists helped three Aggies reach double digits in the game, as Emily Hellmuth led the way with 15, while Logan Lednicky and Kyndal Stowers followed behind with 11 and 10, respectively.
Waak and the Aggies return to action Wednesday, as they head to Gainesville for an evening matchup with the Gators at 6 p.m.
