
No. 6 Volleyball Gears up for Road Test at Auburn

AUBURN – The No. 6 Texas A&M volleyball heads back on the road to face the Tigers Friday evening at Neville Arena with first serve set for 6 p.m.
The Aggies stretched their undefeated run to seven after earning another ranked road victory, taking down No. 16 Tennessee. The result added to the Maroon & White's best conference start since joining the SEC in 2012, improving them to 11-1 in league action. Texas A&M's pair of ranked wins jumped them up three spots in the national rankings, improving them to a program best No. 6 standing.
Ifenna Cos-Okpalla spearheaded the effort in Knoxville, turning in a dominant defensive performance with 13 blocks to tie her own program record for a four-set match. Her impressive weekend earned her SEC Defensive Player of the Week honors for the fourth time this season, while also collecting her third SEC Player of the Week award on the year.
Texas A&M's balanced attack continued to shine, as setter Maddie Waak distributed 40 assists to guide the offense. Kyndal Stowers paced the team with 16 kills, while middle blocker Morgan Perkins delivered her first double-digit kill outing of the year, swinging .563 percent. Logan Lednicky also logged 13 kills in the contest, marking her 12th-straight game in double digits while tacking on 12 digs to record her 10th double-double on the year.

Friday marks the 21st meeting between Texas A&M and Auburn, with the Aggies holding a 15-5 edge in the all-time series. The Maroon & White carry a narrow 4-3 advantage when playing on The Plains including a 3-1 road victory in last season's lone meeting between the programs.
Auburn has proven strong at home, posting an 8-1 mark inside Neville Arena and entering the week 16-7 overall and 7-5 in conference play. The Tigers look to rebound after their most recent setback, which was a 3-1 loss to Georgia, which snapped a three-match win streak.
