BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M women's basketball team welcomes Tarleton State and elementary schools across the Brazos Valley inside Reed Arena Thursday at 11 a.m. for the program's annual Elementary School Day Game.
The Aggies look to build off their 81-43 season opening victory over A&M-Corpus Christi that was led by newcomers Ny'Ceara Pryor and Fatama Janneh. Pryor stuffed the stat sheet with 16 points, eight steals, eight assists and six rebounds while Janneh registered her 28th double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Additionally, Janae Kent and Lemyah Hylton scored in double figures and the team forced 29 turnovers.
Last season, the Elementary School Day Game resulted in a 55-51 win for the Maroon & White against UTSA. The 7,507 fans in attendance marked the fifth largest for an elementary school day for the program. The matchup versus the Texans will be the first in the all-time series between the two schools.
