Women’s Hoops Takes on No. 18 Tennessee in First Round of SEC Tournament
Mar 04, 2025 | Women's Basketball
GREENVILLE – The Texas A&M women's basketball team takes on No. 18 Tennessee in the first round of the SEC Tournament Wednesday inside Bon Secours Wellness Arena at 10 a.m.
The Aggies (10-18, 3-13 SEC) are facing off with the Lady Vols (21-8, 8-8 SEC) for the second time this season. The first matchup was at the start of conference play where Texas A&M fell, 91-78.
The Maroon & White have advanced to the quarterfinals each of the last two years, including the 2023 run where they became the first ever 13 seed to make it to the quarters. They will be without their leading scorer, Aicha Coulibaly, who has been sidelined with a season-ending injury since Jan. 26.
Sahara Jones paces the Aggies in points (9.9) and rebounds (7.1) per game. The San Antonio native is one of seven players in the SEC to have played all five years of their careers at one school and is coming off a career-high 21 points and 11 rebounds on senior day versus Arkansas.
With a win, it would mark the third ranked victory of the season for Texas A&M and set up a bout with Vanderbilt at 10 a.m. Thursday morning in the second round.
How to Keep Up
The contest will be televised on SECN and fans can listen to the action at 1150 AM/93.7 FM or on the 12th Man Mobile App. Live stats for the game can be followed here.
