ATHENS – The Texas A&M baseball team dropped its regular season finale at No. 10 Georgia, 7-5, Saturday afternoon at Foley Field.
Following four scoreless frames, the Bulldogs (42-14, 18-12) opened the scoring with a two-run homer to center in the fifth. The Aggies (28-25, 11-19) responded in the top half of the sixth as Bear Harrison followed a two-out walk from Gavin Kash with a two-run homer of his own to straightaway center field. The long ball marked the second in as many games for the Texas A&M catcher and his 10th of the year.
After Georgia regained the lead in the bottom half of the sixth with another two-run homer, the Maroon & White used back-to-back solo homers from Ben Royo and Terrence Kiel II to even the score at 4-4. For Royo, the long ball marked his 10th of the season, while Kiel's was his second of the year.
The Bulldogs answered with a three-run frame in the bottom half to jump back in front, 7-4.
In the ninth, Kaeden Kent made the final tally 7-5 with a two-out solo home run to center. The homer was the junior's second of the weekend and 12th of the season.
