TYLER, Texas – Texas A&M wide receiver Mario Craver was named the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Player of the Week after his breakout performance in the Aggies' 41-40 win at No. 8 Notre Dame, the organization announced Tuesday.
Craver registered career highs with 207 yards on seven catches, including an 86-yard touchdown reception. His 173 yards at halftime were the most by an Aggie in a half since Mike Evans had 182 against Auburn in 2013. He also became the eighth player in program history to post a 200-yard receiving game.
The sophomore leads the nation with 443 receiving yards and is averaging 147.7 yards per game. Craver became the first Texas A&M player with a 70+ yard receiving touchdown in consecutive games and is only the second Aggie to top 100 yards receiving in three straight games, joining Ryan Swope in 2012. The Birmingham, Alabama, native was also recognized as the AP National Player of the Week.
Additionally, Le'Veon Moss and Marcel Reed earned honorable mention recognition. Moss rushed for three touchdowns in the second quarter, becoming the first Aggie in at least 30 years with three rushing scores in a single quarter. He finished with 81 yards on 20 carries. Reed threw for 360 yards and two touchdowns, averaging 21.2 yards per completion, while adding 37 yards on seven carries. He guided the Aggies on a 13-play, 74-yard game-winning drive capped by an 11-yard touchdown pass to tight end Nate Boerkircher with 13 seconds remaining. His 397 total yards were a career best and marked his second career 300-yard passing game.
