BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The No. 13 Texas A&M volleyball team opens conference play as it hosts No. 21 Missouri Wednesday evening at Reed Arena with first serve set for 6 p.m.
The Aggies concluded their non-conference slate last time out, as they swept the Texas A&M Invitational securing wins over Southeastern Louisiana, New Hampshire and Loyola Marymount. Dominating from start to finish, the Maroon & White didn't drop a single set in their matches and outscored opponents 225-151 over the three matches.
Efficiency was the standout for the weekend, as the Aggies hit over .300 percent in all three contests including .315 versus SLU, .342 against UNH and capped it off with .379 when they faced LMU. Individually, Ifenna Cos-Okpalla led the efficiency charge, hitting .564 on the weekend with 24 kills on 39 swings with only two errors.
Texas A&M's highly touted freshman class got its first experience of the 12thMan, as six athletes made their home debuts. Addi Applegate continued to shine in the Aggies' starting rotation, recording 22 digs and a pair of assists and aces on the weekend. Taryn Morris took full advantage of her opportunity to start the final two sets of the match versus LMU, logging six kills and a career-high seven digs. Amaré Hernandez also saw her first action after redshirting during the 2024 season, registering three kills during her time on the court.
The Matchups
Texas A&M and Missouri continue their storied history, opening league play with a top-25 contest at Reed Arena. This will be the 57th meeting between the teams and the Maroon & White hold a strong 35-22 lead in the all-time record.
Defending home court is something the Aggies have done versus the Tigers, as they are 20-5 when the programs have faced off in College Station. Texas A&M won the most recent fixture last year in what was a five-set thriller which they secured in a reverse sweep.

Ava Underwood enters the match with 979 career digs, sitting just 21 shy of becoming the 23rd Aggie all time to reach 1,000 career digs.
Logan Lednicky's versatility on both offense and defense shows up in the stat sheet, as the senior is just 10 digs away from reaching 600 in her career.
