No. 13 Texas A&M Hosts Vanderbilt in SEC Clash

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The No. 13 Texas A&M volleyball team hosts newly reinstated Vanderbilt for its second conference match of the year Friday evening in Reed Arena with first serve set for 6:30 p.m.
The Aggies opened conference play on the front foot, as they won a top-25 matchup versus No. 21 Missouri in four sets last time out. The Maroon & White captured the first two frame before the Tigers answered in the third, however Texas A&M dominated the fourth holding Missouri to only eight points (25-8).
Kyndal Stowers was the standout offensively, logging 16 kills in the contest, followed closely by Logan Lednicky who added 13.
Ifenna Cos-Okpalla stunned the Tiger offense, blocking a season-high 10 swings with two solo and eight assisted. This marked the eighth match of her career with double-digit blocks.
The Maroon & White excelled at the service line, paced by Maddie Waak who tied her career high in aces with four on the day, while Cos-Okpalla added two and both Lednicky and Tatum Thomas registered one each for a total of eight on the day as a unit.
The Matchups
Texas A&M faces off versus the newly reinstated Vanderbilt volleyball program which returns after a 45-year break from competition. The Commodores enter the match with a 4-6 ledger and are coming off a 3-0 loss in their SEC opener at Texas.
The Aggie offense has been firing on all cylinder behind its three outstanding pins, as Lednicky has 128 kills on the season, while Stowers and Emily Hellmuth are right behind with 125 each. On Vanderbilt's side of the net, they are paced by outside Kamryn Chaney's 150 on the season, and middle blocker Jacquelyn Moore who also reached triple digits with 103.
Milestone Tracker
Ava Underwood enters the match with 988 career digs, sitting just 12 shy of becoming the 23rd Aggie all time to reach 1,000 career digs.
Waak has 25 kills this season and is only five away from last year's career-high total in a season of 30.
Stowers is five blocks away from reaching 50 for her career.
Hellmuth is one dig shy of 250 for her career.
