
No. 10 Volleyball Heads to Utah for Pair of Matches

SALT LAKE CITY – The Texas A&M volleyball team returns to the road for a pair of matches in Utah, facing the No. 21 Utes Thursday at 7 p.m. before squaring off with Utah State Friday at 8 p.m. in Logan.
The Maroon & White continued their strong start to the 2025 season with back-to-back wins at the Rice Invitational, sweeping the Owls (3-0) before outlasting Central Arkansas (3-2) for their third win of the year.
Texas A&M dominated in all facets of the game against Rice, leading in kills (32), aces (6), blocks (10), assists (30) and digs (46). Newcomer Kyndal Stowers led the way offensively with 10 kills, while Ifenna Cos-Okpalla was a force in the middle with a match-high five blocks.
Less than 24 hours later, the Aggies demonstrated their grit and came from behind to secure a 3-2 victory over Central Arkansas. Stowers delivered another standout performance with 14 kills, while Logan Lednicky (12), Taylor Humphrey (12) and Emily Hellmuth (10) joined her in double-digits.
The Maroon & White's offense was conducted by senior Maddie Waak, as she accumulated 80 assists over the weekend averaging 10 a set. The Katy, Texas, native also matched a career high in aces in the match versus the Sugar Bears, logging three in the fixture.
Defensively, the Aggies continued to shine behind senior libero, Ava Underwood, who tallied a season-high 19 digs in the match versus Central Arkansas. She was joined by standout freshmen, Addi Applegate, who secured her first double-digit dig outing with 11.
The Matchups
The Aggies face the Utes for the sixth time in program history. The Maroon & White hold a 4-1 edge in the all-time series, with three of those wins coming at neutral sites. The upcoming match marks their first meeting since 2002 and the first time Texas A&M returns to Salt Lake City since dropping its only loss in the series.
Both teams' efficiency stands out on the stat sheet, as they each hold a .288 hitting percentage on the year. The Aggies have recorded 168 kills on 372 swings with 61 errors, while the Utes have logged 146 kills on 337 swings with 49 errors.
The following evening brings a battle of the Aggies as the Maroon & White take on Utah State at the Estes Center in Logan.
