Feb 12, 2026 | Baseball
BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The No. 25 Texas A&M baseball opens the 2026 campaign Friday at 6 p.m. from Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park as they welcome Tennessee Tech for a three-game series. The second game of the series is slated for Saturday at 2 p.m., and game three is tabbed for Sunday at 12 p.m.
Each game of the series will be broadcast on SEC Network+ and can be heard locally on 1150 AM/93.7 FM The Zone. Fans can follow along through live stats or on X, @AggieBaseball.
Friday's series opener marks the first meeting all-time between the two clubs. Last season against first-time opponents, the Maroon & White posted a 2-0 record. The scheduled starting rotation for the weekend includes Shane Sdao as Friday's Opening Day starter, Weston Moss on Saturday afternoon, and Aiden Sims on Sunday to wrap up the series.
The 2026 campaign marks the 124th season of Texas A&M baseball and the 21st straight season opener inside the friendly confines of Blue Bell Park. The Aggies are 86-32-5 all-time on Opening Day and 36-4 when opening the season at home. Since 2014, the Maroon & White have won 11 of their last 12 home openers.
The Aggies have won 16 of their last 17 Opening Weekend Series, with 15 coming via a sweep. A sweep this weekend would mark five straight for Ol' Sarge's Charges on Opening Weekend.
A total of four Aggies received Preseason All-America honors. Chris Hacopian and Caden Sorrell earned All-America recognition from all four major publications and were also named to the Golden Spikes Award Preseason Watch List by USA Baseball. Additionally, Gavin Grahovac and Sdao were tabbed All-Americans by Baseball America.
In the Preseason SEC Coaches Poll, Grahovac and Sorrell were selected to the All-SEC First Team, and right-handed relief pitcher Clayton Freshcorn was named to the Second Team.
