
Aggies Hit the Road to Take on No. 19 Vanderbilt

NASHVILLE – The Texas A&M men's basketball team hits the road to take on No. 19 Vanderbilt at Memorial Gym Saturday at 12 p.m. on SEC Network.
The Aggies look to get back in the win column after falling in a tight battle with Missouri, 86-85, Wednesday night. The game saw eight lead changes in the final five minutes as the Tigers took the advantage with 17 seconds to play and Texas A&M was unable to answer in the closing seconds. Zach Clemence led the way with his second 20-point game of the season and Rylan Griffen added 17 points, five rebounds and three assists. Rashaun Agee also filled out the stat sheet with 13 points, nine rebounds, four assists and two blocks.
The Maroon & White saw a season-high nine players knock down a 3-pointer against the Tigers as the Aggies shot an impressive 64-percent (11-17) from beyond the arc in the opening period. They rank sixth nationally averaging 11.6 3-pointers per game.
The Aggies are No. 7 in the country in scoring offense with 90.7 points per game and have seen at least 30 points come from non-starters in 15 games this season, including 38 against Missouri. The Maroon & White rank second nationally and lead the conference averaging 37.6 bench points per game.
Agee has remained dominant in league action, averaging 15.2 points and 9.5 rebounds. He had scored in double figures in 12 of the last 13 games and his 10 double-doubles this year rank second in the league, while his career tally of 30 is tied for eighth among active Division I players. On the year, Agee ranks second among league players averaging 8.8 rebounds and 6.2 defensive boards per game.
Vanderbilt enters the weekend at 20-4 on the season and 7-4 in conference play. The Commodores have won four of their last five games, most recently topping Auburn on the road, 84-76. Vanderbilt leads the all-time series with Texas A&M,12-9. The two teams have split the last four meetings as the Aggies look for their first regular season win in Nashville since defeating the Commodores 69-50 in 2020.
