No. 8 Aggies Sweep UCSB Gauchos in Waco

WACO – The No. 8 Texas A&M men's tennis team swept the UCSB Gauchos, 4-0, in the back draw of the ITA National Team Indoor Championship at the Hawkins Indoor Tennis Center Sunday night.
Sophomore Alex Frusina clinched the match the Aggies' first win this week in Waco with a ranked victory over No. 31 Dominique Rolland on court 2, 6-1, 6-4.
The Aggies (7-3) started on the front foot, picking up their fourth straight doubles point. UCSB (6-3) picked up court 3, before the Maroon & White took over. Theo Papamalamis and Lathan Skrobarcek picked up a ranked win on court 2 over the No. 80 tandem of Lucca Liu and Miguel Avendano Cadena, 6-3. The No. 33 pair of Kholo Montsi and Frusina followed shortly after, defeating Conrad Brown and Dominique Rolland on court 1 to clinch the point, 6-3.
Texas A&M's momentum carried over into singles, with three Aggies picking up straight set wins. Skrobarcek struck first on court 6, topping Charlie Underwood, 6-1, 6-3.
Freshman Markus Molder put the Maroon & White within one after grabbing a win on court 4 over Diogo Morais, 6-2, 6-2. Frusina clinched the match shortly after.
The Maroon & White return home to open conference play against Ole Miss Saturday Feb. 21 at 11 a.m.
