No. 15 Texas A&M Run-Rules Louisiana Tech, 9-1

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The No. 15 Texas A&M softball team run-ruled Louisiana Tech, 9-1, in five innings Wednesday night at Davis Diamond.
Texas A&M (16-7) capitalized on a five-run third inning after sending nine batters to the plate, highlighted by Micaela Wark's three-run home run to take a commanding 6-0 lead. The Aggies delivered the final blow with consecutive doubles and a single to end the game via run rule in the fifth.
Sophomore Frankie Vrazel led the Aggies with three hits and two runs, while Wark hit her 10th home run of the season and drove in three runs. Sophomore Sydney Lessentine (7-1) tossed her fourth complete game of the season, allowing four hits and one unearned run with two punchouts.
Junior Mya Perez put the Aggies on the board in the bottom of the first with her ninth home run of the season.
After a scoreless second inning, sophomore Kelsey Mathis walked and advanced on a wild pitch before reaching third on a double by Vrazel. Mathis scored on a sacrifice fly from Kennedy Powell. Momentum continued for Ol' Sarge's charges when Wark launched a 273-foot, three-run home run. KK Dement followed with a single to left to score Annsley Groce and cap the inning at 6-0.
Louisiana Tech (13-7) plated its lone run in the top of the fourth on a single following a fielding error.
Ariel Kowalewski led off the fifth with a walk, followed by back-to-back doubles from Mathis and Vrazel before Powell singled to left-center for the walk-off run-rule victory.
UP NEXT
The Aggies travel to the San Marcos Showdown at Bobcat Softball Stadium to face Tarleton State on March 6 at 11 a.m., followed by Texas State at 4 p.m.
