Apr 11, 2026 | Women's Tennis
FAYETTEVILLE – The No. 2 Texas A&M women's tennis team claimed a share of its fifth consecutive SEC regular season title with Saturday's 4-0 victory over the Arkansas Razorbacks at Billingsley Tennis Center.
The Aggies matched the league record for most consecutive league crowns set by Florida from 1984-88 and equaled in 1995-99.
Texas A&M closed the regular season with a 21-4 overall mark and 13-2 mark in SEC play. The Aggies shared the conference title with Oklahoma. If Auburn tops Vanderbilt in their SEC finale tomorrow, it will be a three-way tie atop the league ledger.
No. 1 Lucciana Perez earned the title clinching point with a 6-1, 6-4 victory over No. 34 Caroli Gomez Alonso on court 1. Perez was perfect in SEC play, notching a 13-0 mark. She improved to 22-0 on the season and extended her SEC regular season win streak to 32 matches.
No. 35 Mia Kupres put Texas A&M one point from the league title with her 6-3, 6-4 triumph over Brooke Schafer on court 2. She moved to 14-9 on the season and she claimed her 30th career SEC regular season victory.
No. 103 Lexington Reed was the first Aggie to check in on singles. She topped Anet Koskel, 6-0, 7-5, on court 3. The Orlando, Fla., native moved her singles record to 16-6, including 10-4 in league action.
The Aggies wrangled away the doubles point. Arkansas checked in early with a 6-2 win by No. 23 C. Gomez Alonso/Koskel over No. 14 Kupres/Perez on court 1. Texas A&M evened the action with a victory by Reed/Daria Smetannikov, 6-2, on court 3. Violeta Martinez/Anna Perelman landed the decisive blow in on court 2 with a 6-4 triumph over Arina Babenko/Schafer.
Head Coach Mark Weaver
On winning the match and clinching the championship...
"I'm very proud of our group. We did a great job of handling the pressure of the moment. Arkansas put up a heck of a fight and played very well. It was great bounce back from the OU match a few days ago. I couldn't be happier and more proud of our team's composure and also how they represent themselves and Texas A&M as a whole."
