Cunningham Named to SEC Baseball Community Service Team

BIRMINGHAM – Texas A&M right-handed reliever Grant Cunningham was named to the SEC Baseball Community Service Team for the second consecutive year, as announced by the league office Wednesday morning.
Grant has exemplified the core values of selfless service and leadership in his two years in Aggieland, volunteering 30.85 service hours to the community. He serves as the vice president of the Texas A&M Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and continued to push the AggiesCAN initiative to the baseball program, the largest student-athlete run canned food drive in the country. Cunningham coordinated REVved Up to Read, promoting literacy to elementary school kids by reading and donating books to the schools.
His biggest service project this year will be put into action at this weekend's series with Mississippi State. Earlier this year, Cunningham worked with Adidas to send white cleats to Houston Memorial Children's Hospital. Kids at the hospital's pediatric cancer ward will paint the cleats to be worn by Texas A&M players during the Mississippi State series, bringing awareness to the children's hospital.
Cunningham serves as a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes leadership team for Texas A&M Athletics, and has excelled as a teammate, student and pitcher.
In 15 appearances this season, the righty has logged a 4-1 record with 29 strikeouts and a save.
