AT SHEPHERD HIGH SCHOOL: Kolek played under Joshua Jackson at Shepherd High School where he earned All-District 23-4A First Team accolades as a senior... also garnered All-District 22-3A First Team as a sophomore and All-District 22-3A Second Team as a junior, as well as Perfect Game 2013 Underclassman Honorable Mention and 2014 Underclassman First Team…his sophomore and junior year the Pirates went to the first round of playoffs and his senior year they advanced to the second round... also played summer baseball for the Houston Heat... along with baseball, he played varsity football and basketball for his junior and senior year receiving All-District honorable mention honors in basketball.
