PERSONAL
Father, Greg, was a 37th-round pick by the Red Sox in the 1990 MLB Draft out of high school, but opted to play college ball at University of the Pacific and eventually at Mary-Hardin Baylor...Grandfathers, Billy Sorrell and Tom Griffin, each played in the major leagues...Sorrell played in 85 career MLB games over three seasons, playing for the Philadelphia Phillies (1965), San Francisco Giants (1967) and Kansas City Royals (1970)...Most notably he was credited with being the 10,000th player in MLB history...Griffin was the fourth overall selection in the 1966 January Regular Baseball Draft by the Houston Astros and went on to play in all or part of 14 seasons in the big leagues for the Astros, San Diego Padres, California Angels, San Francisco Giants and Pittsburgh Pirates...Has one sister, Haley, who played soccer at Georgia.
