Parker Leap, PsyD serves the Athletics Department as an Athletics Psychology Post-Doctoral Fellow.
Dr. Leap uses an integrative approach to enhance mental performance and foster student-athlete mental health and well-being. He strives to form strong relationships that are rooted in unwavering support, warmth and trust. By doing so, he is able to collaboratively develop and tailor interventions to meet each student-athlete’s unique needs and goals.
Dr. Leap completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a Spanish minor from Eastern Mennonite University and his Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Sport Psychology from Boston University. He earned a PsyD in Clinical and School Psychology from James Madison University, where he provided sport psychology services and implemented resilience-based programming with student-athletes as a graduate assistant director under the supervision of Dr. Bob Harmison.
He also completed his doctoral internship within the Counseling and Psychology Services at Appalachian State University, where he received specialized training and worked with student-athletes under the supervision of Dr. Jacob Cooper.
