No. 7 Texas A&M Set to Face Penn State and Incarnate Word

COLLEGE STATION – The No. 7 Texas A&M softball team continues its 19-game homestand as it hosts Penn State Tuesday at 6 p.m. and Incarnate Word for a doubleheader Wednesday beginning at 4 p.m. at the Aggie Softball Complex.
The games can be seen on SEC Network + with Chelsea Reber (play-by-play) and Boomer White (color) on the call. Authenticated subscribers can access the stream through WatchESPN and the ESPN app on their computers, mobile phones, tablets, smart TVs and other connected devices.

The Aggies (18-3) are coming off a 4-1 weekend at the A&M Invite with wins over Louisiana Tech (twice), Texas State and Utah. At the tournament, Kaitlyn Alderink led Texas A&M, going 7-for-15 at the plate with three doubles, a home run and six RBI. Riley Sartain added a double and three home runs and Kristen Cuyos recorded two doubles and a home run. Trinity Harrington nearly threw a perfect game against the Utes as she faced the minimum and allowed her first baserunner with one out in the seventh inning.
On the season, Sarah Hudek tops the Aggies with a .421 average followed by Ashley Walters' .379, while Tori Vidales has five home runs and 28 RBI.
In the circle, Trinity Harrington is 5-1 with a 1.16 ERA. Samantha Show holds a 5-2 record with a 2.87 ERA, and Maddie MacGrandle is 4-0 with a 1.24 ERA. Lexi Smith adds a perfect 3-0 mark and a 1.53 ERA.
Penn State enters the Tuesday showdown with a 1-10 record with the Nittany Lions' lone win coming at Jacksonville on Feb. 23. Tori Dubois and Toni Polk pace the PSU offense with averages of .361 and .324, respectively.
The Aggies and Nittany Lions have met 17 times with Texas A&M leading the series, 12-4-1. Penn State won the last meeting, 4-3, on Feb. 14, 2015, in College Station. Prior to that loss, the Aggies had won the previous seven games against Penn State.
Incarnate Word is currently 3-6 on the year and is coming off a 3-2 weekend at the Madeira Beach Showcase, where the Cardinals defeated Villanova, Alabama State and Eastern Michigan. Victoria Bratcher tops the team at a .367 clip, while Marcela Lopez is batting .357.
The Cardinal pitching staff is coached by former player, Rachel Fox (2014-15), who helped lead the Aggies to two NCAA Regional appearances in two season with the program.
Wednesday's doubleheader will be the first time the Aggies and Cardinals have met in history.
