
No. 9 Volleyball Gears Up for Road Test at Mississippi State

STARKVILLE – The No. 9 Texas A&M Volleyball team hits the road for a matchup versus the Bulldogs of Mississippi State Sunday with first serve set for 2 p.m.
 
The Aggies look to get back in the win column following a loss to No. 3 Kentucky in a four-set battle. Texas A&M struck first, capturing the opening set before the Wildcats claimed the next two. The fourth frame went into extras, but the visitors were able to close out the win.
 
Logan Lednicky was the offensive standout for the Maroon & White, as she recorded her second match of the season with over 20 kills after logging 21. The senior had her best outing during conference play and now ranks fifth in the league in kills per set averaging 4.33.
 
Ava Underwood led the line defensively, putting up her second-largest dig total of the year with 17 in the match. She was one of three Aggies to register double digits, as Lednicky (14) and Kyndal Stowers (10) followed behind.
 
The Matchups
Sunday's contest is the 22nd all-time between Texas A&M and Mississippi State and 10th in Starkville. The Aggies boast a dominant record in the 21 prior meetings, holding a 14-7 record and fair well on the road with a 9-2 ledger. Despite the overall success, the Bulldogs won the most recent matchup last season, securing a 3-0 win at Reed Arena.
 
Both programs have had strong start to the 2025 campaign, as the Aggies are 12-3 overall and 4-1 in SEC play, while Mississippi State holds a 13-2 ledger and is 3-2 in conference play. The Bulldogs enter the fixture following a win, as they downed Ole Miss in four sets (3-1).
 
The teams shine in different areas, as the Maroon & White lead in four team statistical categories, while Mississippi State have the advantage in three. The Aggies hold the upper hand in hitting percentage, opponent hitting percentage, assists and kills per set and the hosts are ahead in blocks, digs and aces per frame.
