Lamkin Tosses Gem, Aggies Even Series at No. 10 Georgia
May 16, 2025 | Baseball
ATHENS – Justin Lamkin tossed his first career complete game shutout as the Texas A&M baseball team evened the series at No. 10 Georgia with a 6-0 victory Friday night at Foley Field.
Lamkin (4-7) struck out a career-high 15 batters on 121 pitches and limited the Bulldogs (41-14, 17-12) to only three hits on the night. The junior's 15 punchouts marked the most by an Aggie in an SEC contest. The left-hander, who did not yield a walk, retired the final 16 batters he faced en route to becoming the first Texas A&M pitcher to record a complete game shutout on the road since Michael Wacha in 2012.
Gavin Kash powered the offensive attack for the Aggies (28-24, 11-18) as the senior went 3-for-5 with a season-high tying five RBI. Kaeden Kent followed with his second straight multi-hit performance, finishing 2-for-5 at the dish.
Following a one-out walk from Jace LaViolette and an infield single from Wyatt Henseler, Kash put the Maroon & White on the board in the third with a three-run homer to straightaway center field. The Aggie first baseman's third long ball of the season left the bat at 107 mph and traveled 431 feet.
Bear Harrison tacked on an insurance run in the eighth with an opposite field solo home run. The sophomore's ninth homer of the year landed 350 feet over the wall in right.
In the ninth, Kash stretched the advantage to 6-0 with a two-out, two-run double to right. After forcing a pop-up for the first out of the bottom half, Lamkin struck out the final two batters to complete the Maroon & White's fourth shutout of the season.
