Aggies Open SEC Tournament Slate Against Auburn

HOOVER - No. 10-ranked Texas A&M baseball begins SEC Tournament play as the No. 3 seed against No. 6 seed Auburn (37-18), Friday evening from Hoover Metropolitan Stadium in Hoover, Alabama. The contest will begin approximately 30 minutes following the conclusion of the prior 3 PM game between Arkansas and Texas.
Friday's contest will air on SEC Network and may be heard locally on 1150 AM/93.7 The Zone. Fans may follow along with the games on X, @AggieBaseball.
After winning the final regular season series against No. 13 Mississippi State over the weekend, the Aggies (39-13) enter the tournament as the No. 3 seed, earning a double bye. At the event, the Maroon & White hold 20-15 all-time and a 2-1 record under head coach Michael Earley. In its opening game at the SEC Tournament, Texas A&M is 7-3 all-time.
On Monday, the Aggies landed a league-best four players on the All-SEC First Team and two players on the All-SEC Freshman Team. Clayton Freshcorn, Gavin Grahovac, Chris Hacopian and Caden Sorrell earned a spot on the first team, while Nico Partida and Jorian Wilson were named to the freshman team. Grahovac and Sorrell also earned All-Defensive Team honors.
The Maroon & White faced off against Auburn earlier this season, where the Tigers took two out of three games from the Aggies. Texas A&M salvaged the series finale behind the bat of Hacopian, who drove in all four runs in the Aggies' 4-3 win.
Ol' Sarge's charges have been powered offensively by Grahovac, who leads the team with a .351 batting average, 70 runs, 74 hits and three triples. The junior also ranks first among the SEC in conference play in slugging percentage (.754), runs scored (40), RBI (43) and home runs (13). The Orange, California, native was honored as the SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year earlier in the year.
Offensively, the Aggies rank inside the top ten nationally in home runs (114), runs (477) and slugging percentage (.575). On the mound, the Maroon & White rank ninth in strikeout to walk ratio (3.11) and third in walks allowed per nine innings (2.97).
