WHERE THE AGGIES ARE NATIONALLY
Texas A&M remained No. 1 in the NFCA poll, while dropping to No. 2 in the ESPN, Softball America and D1 Softball rankings for Week 11. The Maroon & White have had one of the toughest schedules this season ranking seventh in overall strength of schedule and fifth in non-conference strength of schedule. The Aggies boast the No. 1 RPI in the nation, while their 21 wins against top 50 RPI teams are the most in the country. Through April 22, the Aggies rank third in the nation in hit-by-pitches (55), 11th in on-base percentage (.447) and 17th in batting average (.344), while their 329 total runs are 18th-most in the country. The Aggie pitching staff boasts a 2.60 ERA, ranking 24th in the NCAA and their WHIP of 1.22 is 22nd-best. Individually, Mya Perez ranks No. 10 in the country with a .571 on-base percentage and No. 16 with 57 RBI. Amari Harper ranks seventh in hit-by-pitch (14) and No. 11 in on-base percentage (.570).
AGGIES IN THE SEC
The Aggies are in first place with a 13-4 record, including an 8-2 ledger in the team's last 10 SEC games. Texas A&M's pitching staff ranks second with the fewest hits allowed (100), third in opposing batting average (.229) and fourth in ERA (3.93). Offensively, the Maroon & White rank first in batting average (.307), on-base percentage (.415) and doubles (26), while ranking fourth in runs scored (102) and fifth in slugging percentage (.471). Individually, Harper leads the conference in batting average (.486), on-base percentage (.618) and hit-by-pitches (8), while ranking second in slugging percentage (.800). Kennedy Powell leads the SEC in hit-by-pitches (8) and runs scored (20), while ranking second in stolen bases (7). Emiley Kennedy's nine wins are second most, while she is third keeping opposing hitters to a .197 batting average. Texas A&M has won five consecutive SEC series after taking only one-of-three against No. 3 Florida on SEC opening weekend. The Aggies have swept three SEC opponents, including their first ever sweep of No. 6 LSU. Since joining the SEC in 2013, the Aggies have swept a conference opponent on the road only six times — and they've done so in two of the road series this season.
RUN IT UP
The Maroon & White are 16th in the nation in scoring (7.39) and 19th in total runs (340), while ranking fifth in each in the SEC. Individually, Powell ranks No. 24 in the nation with 52 runs, which is fifth-most in the SEC. Powell has steadily been climbing the Texas A&M all-time ranks in scoring. The junior is five runs away from breaking the SEC season scoring record held by Kaitlyn Alderink (24), while she is nine runs away from breaking the Aggie program record of 60 runs in a season set by Sharonda McDonald in 2007. The Aggies are 30-3 in games when Powell scores a run, including a 15-1 record when she scores multiple times. Ol' Sarge's charges have scored double-digit runs in 17 games this season, while winning 15 games via run-rule. In the last 15 games, the Aggies have scored 10-plus runs eight times and won seven games in run-rule fashion. Texas A&M has outscored their opponents 213-84 in the friendly confines of Davis Diamond, while averaging 7.6 runs in 28 games.
BUILT FORD TOUGH
Head coach Trisha Ford is in her third season in Aggieland and 15th overall. Known for her blue-collar mentality, Ford has instilled that attitude into her program leading the Aggies to a 119-42 record. Ford brought the Aggies back into national relevance as the program recently earned their first ever No. 1 ranking in the NFCA and ESPN polls on April 15. Since the inception of the ESPN.com/USA Softball poll in 2005, Ford has been the second-fastest head coach to lead a new program to the No. 1 ranking—doing so in just 159 games, behind only Kelly Inouye-Perez, who guided UCLA to No. 1 in her second season (84 games). Texas A&M was the first program in 79 polls to earn the No. 1 ranking outside of Oklahoma, Texas or UCLA. Under Ford, the Maroon & White have won 16-of-22 SEC series and have finished in the league's final standings five positions higher than what it was picked in each of the seasons SEC coaches preseason poll.
HOME OF THE 12TH MAN
The Aggies own a 162-48 (.771) record at Davis Diamond since it opened on April 27, 2018, and are 70-12 in the Ford era. Texas A&M is 51-6 the last two seasons, including a 24-4 record in 2025. The Aggies have posted six of the program's top 10 attendance marks this season, including a program record 2,754 against Texas Tech on March 1, after having a then record 2,522 against George Washington on Feb. 28. After setting a Davis Diamond SEC series total record of 6,916 against No. 3 Florida, the 12th Man bettered the mark with 7,014 in the three-game set against No. 6 LSU. The 12th Man is regarded as one of the most dedicated fan bases in the nation. The Aggies rank No. 5 in the nation averaging 2,116 per game this season.
ARKANSAS PREVIEW
Bri Ellis leads Arkansas offensively ranking first in the nation in slugging percentage (1.216) and on-base percentage (.646), while ranking second in home runs (22). The pitching staff is paced by Robyn Herron who is 14-4 with a team-best 2.21 ERA and 122 strikeouts in 101.1 innings of work. The Aggies hold a 22-5 all-time advantage over the Razorbacks, despite the two teams splitting the last 10 matchups. Texas A&M and Arkansas last battled in 2023, in head coach Trisha Ford's SEC debut. The Aggies were run-ruled in five innings in the series opener, before taking game two, 2-0 and claiming the series with a 9-1 run-rule in five innings. It marked the first SEC opening weekend series win for Texas A&M since joining the league.
