No. 23 Baseball Blanks Virginia Tech, 10-0, in Amegy Bank College Baseball Series Opener

ARLINGTON – No. 23 Texas A&M earned its ninth consecutive win of the season with a 10-0 run-rule victory over Virginia Tech Friday night from Globe Life Field.
Shane Sdao (2-0) earned the win after tossing 6.0 shutout innings. The lefty allowed four hits and tallied five strikeouts to compliment his second consecutive quality start. Cole Hubert worked around a leadoff single in the seventh inning to preserve the shutout and secure the run-rule victory.
Offensively, The Aggies used an explosive sixth inning to blow past the Hokies (7-2). In the frame, the Maroon & White plated eight runs on five hits, two walks and had two batters hit by a pitch. Four of the five hits in the inning were doubles, including three consecutively by Caden Sorrell, Blake Binderup and Jake Duer to combine for five RBI.
Chris Hacopian got the scoring party started in the bottom of the first with a solo shot to left-center field, and Terrence Kiel II drove in a run in the fourth inning with a single through the right side.
