No. 24 Baseball Walks Off Penn, 1-0, in Pitcher’s Duel

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – No. 24 Texas A&M walked off Penn in the bottom of the ninth inning to claim the series opener, 1-0, Friday night from Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park.
Following a Bear Harrison walk and Travis Chestnut sacrifice bunt, Boston Kellner drove a double to deep center field to bring home the lone run and cap the victory for the Aggies (5-0).
Shane Sdao matched a career high 7.0 shutout innings to keep the score knotted at zero. The lefty allowed just three hits and struck out a career-best seven hitters. Ethan Darden inherited a runner on first base in the eighth inning but escaped the jam with two strikeouts and a successful pick-off attempt at first base.
Josh Stewart (1-0) earned the win after tossing a scoreless ninth inning. The team's 12th Man entered the top half of the frame with a runner on first and nabbed a strikeout and a pair of groundouts to send the Maroon & White to the bottom of the ninth with the score still even.
The Aggie pitching staff combined for 10 strikeouts and allowed just four hits while not issuing a single walk. At the dish, Texas A&M registered seven hits and drew five free passes.
