NORMAN – No. 22 Texas A&M slugged past No. 9 Oklahoma, 9-5, to earn its first conference win of the 2026 campaign Saturday afternoon from Kimrey Family Stadium.

The Aggies (16-2) blasted four homers to triumph over the Sooners (16-3). Chris Hacopian led the Maroon & White's offensive attack, going 2-for-4 at the plate with two runs scored and two RBI. The junior got the run party started in the third inning with a two-run shot to left field that travelled 450 feet and left the bat at 106 miles per hour.

Boston Kellner led off the fifth inning with a solo shot to give the Aggies the lead. After walks from Gavin Grahovac and Hacopian, Wesley Jordan demolished a three-run homer to give Ol' Sarge's Charges a four-run advantage.

The Sooners fought back to get within a run in the seventh inning when Clayton Freshcorn was called upon in relief. The righty from Waller, Texas, entered with the bases loaded and nobody out, inducing a fielder's choice out at home plate, a strikeout looking and an unassisted fielder's choice out at third base to strand all three runners and keep the Aggies in front.

Texas A&M added three runs of insurance in the eighth inning, backed by a two-run opposite field homer by Caden Sorrell to extend the lead to 9-5.

Freshcorn finished the contest for the Maroon & White, working the last 3.0 innings in scoreless fashion to earn his third save of the year.

Weston Moss (3-1) earned his third win of the season, tossing 6.0 innings. After allowing a two-run homer in the first, the righty settled in nicely to deal four consecutive scoreless innings. The junior ended his night with six strikeouts and surrendered five runs on five hits.

B7 | Kyle Branch and Gerardo Prado walked to lead off the frame. Jason Walk singled on a bunt, and the Sooners plated the lone run of the inning on a bases-loaded walk by Johnson. A&M 6, Oklahoma 5.

T8 | Kiel and Bear Harrison drew walks and advanced to scoring position on a sacrifice bunt by Kellner. Grahovac plated Kiel on a deep sacrifice fly to right field. Sorrell drove a two-run shot to left field to increase the lead to four. A&M 9, Oklahoma 5.

GAME NOTES

Saturday's contest marked the 70th meeting all-time between the clubs. With the win, the Aggies evened the series at 35 games apiece.
5,072 fans filled Kimrey Family Stadium for the Saturday afternoon bout.
Kiel and Kellner have reached base safely in all 18 games.
Jake Duer logged his team-best ninth multi-hit game.
Sorrell recorded his eighth multi-RBI performance of the year.
