
Sorrell Named to 2026 Golden Spikes Award Midseason Watch List

CARY, N.C. – Texas A&M outfielder Caden Sorrell was selected to the Golden Spikes Award Midseason Watch List, as announced by USA Baseball Thursday.
Sorrell is one of 45 players who earned their way onto the midseason list. The 25 semifinalists will be named May 14.
In 26 starts, Sorrell owns a slash line of .387/.472/.868. The Highland Village, Texas, native has belted a career-high 14 home runs to complement nine doubles and four stolen bases. His 46 RBI rank second among SEC hitters and are tied for eighth in the nation. The lefty slugger has recorded 13 multi-hit games and leads the squad with 12 multi-RBI performances. In SEC play, Sorrell owns a .350 batting average with five doubles, three home runs and 10 RBI.
Over his career in Aggieland, Sorrell has drilled 37 home runs, ranking eighth all-time in program history.
Since 1978, USA Baseball has honored the most outstanding amateur player in the country with the Golden Spikes Award. The Award is given each year to the player who best exhibits exceptional on-field ability, exemplary sportsmanship and character, and an overall positive contribution to the sport.
Fan voting will again play a part in the Golden Spikes Award in 2026. Following the semifinalist announcement, baseball fans may vote for their favorite players on GoldenSpikesAward.com to help determine the finalists and winner.
The winner of the Golden Spikes Award will be named on June 29 during a presentation on MLB Network.
