BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – No. 24 Texas A&M secured the series sweep over Penn, 7-1, behind a dominant start from Aiden Sims Sunday afternoon from Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park.

Sims (2-0) faced the minimum through five innings to keep the Quakers (0-3) silent at the plate. The Forney, Texas, native concluded his outing with a career-high 7.0 innings pitched, allowing one run on just three hits. The righty topped his career-best strikeout total, fanning 10 batters.

Josh Stewart put a cap on the contest, tossing the final two frames. He allowed one hit and struck out one.

Nico Partida led the Aggies (7-0) offensively, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored. The Pearland, Texas, native drilled his third home run of the season in the bottom of the third inning to put the Maroon & White ahead, 4-1. Both Jake Duer and Gavin Grahovac recorded multi-hit performances and drove in a run with a double.

SCORING SUMMARY
B2 | Partida led off with a single through the left side and moved to second on a Travis Chestnut groundout back to the pitcher. Sawyer Farr plated the run with a sharp line drive to left-center field. A&M 1, Penn 0.

B3 | Terrence Kiel II was hit by a pitch and stole second on the very next offering. Grahovac lined a double through the gap in right-center to plate the run. Boston Kellner reached on a fielder's choice as Grahovac was tagged out attempting to advance to third. Partida blasted a home run to left field to double the Aggies' advantage. A&M 4, Penn 0.

B4 | Chestnut was hit with a pitch to start the inning, and advanced to third on a wild throw from the Quakers' pitcher on a failed pick-off attempt. Zane Becker scored the run with a groundout to the shortstop. With two outs, Kiel drew a walk and Grahovac followed with a single to left-center. Another run was tallied when Duer shot a double to right-center. A&M 6, Penn 0.

T6 | Michael Powell logged the Quakers' first hit of the contest on a deep double to center field. Gavin Degnan brought the run home with a double of his own to left-center field. A&M 6, Penn 1.

B7 | Kellner started things off with a walk and moved to third on a Partida single to center field. Chestnut laid down a sacrifice bunt to bring the run home. A&M 7, Penn 1.

GAME NOTES

With the win, the Aggies lead the all-time series against Penn, 4-2.
Blue Bell Park held 5,265 fans Sunday afternoon, totaling 18,388 fans throughout the weekend.
The Aggies are 7-0 to start the season for the fifth time in the last 10 years.
The Texas A&M pitching staff did not walk a single batter in the series, the first time accomplishing the feat since at least 2000.
Aggie pitchers have not issued a walk in the last 44.2 innings pitched.
Sims struck out a career-high 10 batters.
Grahovac's single in the fourth inning was the 100^th hit of his collegiate career.
