No. 22 Baseball Downs Oakland in Both Contests of Doubleheader

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – No. 22 Texas A&M delivered a pair of victories over Oakland in doubleheader action Friday night from Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park.
The Aggies topped the Golden Grizzlies, 6-3, in game one and 10-2 in the second bout behind strong starts from Shane Sdao and Weston Moss, respectively.
Game One: Aggies 6, Golden Grizzlies 3
After the Golden Grizzlies got out to an early 3-0 lead, Caden Sorrell blasted a three-run shot to center field to even the score. The Highland Village, Texas, native's seventh homer of the season travelled 439 feet and left the bat at 104 miles per hour.
The Maroon & White added two more runs in the bottom of the fifth when Gavin Grahovac drilled a double off the wall in right center to plate Terrence Kiel II and Sorrell. The Aggies increased their advantage in the sixth inning after a ground ball from Jorian Wilson was misplayed by Oakland's second baseman, scoring Nico Partida.
Sdao (3-0) logged his third consecutive quality start, working 7.0 innings and allowing three earned runs. The lefty issued one walk and punched out a career-high eight batters. In six of his seven innings pitched, Sdao sat down the side in order.
Juan Vargas worked 1.2 innings in relief, allowing no runs on two hits. Clayton Freshcorn earned his second save of the year, entering the contest with the tying run at the plate and inducing a pop fly for the final out.

Game Two: Aggies 10, Golden Grizzlies 2
The Maroon & White got off to a quick start offensively, plating five runs in the first inning and three in the second. Kellner sparked the offense, driving in two RBI on a single through the right side in the first and blasting a two-run homer in the second that put the Aggies up by eight runs.
Grahovac tallied three RBI on two hits, including a solo shot to center field in the second inning that travelled 410 feet with a 107 mile per hour exit velocity. Kiel reached base safely four times on a single, a double, a walk and a hit by pitch. The sophomore scored two runs and plated one RBI. Partida and Sawyer Farr each logged multi-hit contests in the win.
Moss (2-1) dealt his second quality of the start of the season, going 6.0 innings and allowing just one earned run on three hits. The righty did not issue a walk and punched out four Golden Grizzlies. Gavin Lyons, Hunter Vincent and Grant Cunningham each made appearances in relief. The trio combined for 3.0 innings pitched, four strikeouts, no walks, and allowed one run on three hits.
